The Disney Fantasy cruise ship is now officially launched and is running regular seven day cruises out of Port Canaveral.
We were invited on a three-day preview cruise to Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.
Here are some of the interesting things we noticed and some of our best photos.

Just one of the many mosaic works of art around the ship. This one is in the Royal Court restaurant.
I didn’t get to try out this interactive video screen floor in the kids’ Oceaneer Club, but I wanted to. This Magic PlayFloor is used for games and stories.

Andy’s Room from Toy Story is another one of the rooms in the Oceaneer Club.
Kids got to steer a Disney cruise ship in this kids room game. I think they should open the kids’ rooms up to adults at least a few hours during the cruise.
Disney Imagineers aren’t just
with adding a prop to the Europa adult nightlife area. When you sit down and put your foot down, you’ll hear the sound of a real Vespa motor running.
Also notice the license plate number.
You’ll see the 688 different places around the ship. It’s the yard number where the ship was built.
We took an Imagineer-led tour of the ship and this bathroom was one of the stops. Yes, a bathroom – for its tremendous mosaic. These bathrooms are in the Europa area.

I love the Mickey Mouse style chairs in the Animator’s Palate restaurant.
Check all the shelves in the Animator’s Palate restaurant for some cool toys and props.
Pixar’s Tin Toy in the Animator’s Palate dining room.
One of the favorite foods I discovered was in Animator’s Palate. It’s popcorn flavored soup, served with a side of carmel corn.
I found it interesting that during the musical stage shows, many characters had mouths that moved and eyes that open and shut.
The characters I saw on in the shows don’t do that when at Walt Disney World. But Mickey does at Disney World, but didn’t in the shows on the ship.
There were a lot of cute moments to be seen with kids meeting Disney characters.
This particular little girl was seen just about every night in similar outfits as the characters.
You’ll see her again … (On her wrist is a wristband used as a safety device for kids onboard.)
The ship decks and the Aquaduck slide looked particularly great at night.
Watch over your food while dining at the buffet. These birds are.
You can see more about the Muppets Midship Detective agency game in our video, but my favorite part was finding Pepe the King Prawn’s stateroom door.

A look at one of the new areas on the ship that isn’t on the Disney Dream (Fantasy’s sister ship). It’s the Aqualab water play area.
We had great weather all cruise-long.

Goofy’s Golf course on deck 13 has everything, including the kitchen sink.
Clocks in the Cabanas food court show the time at different Disney parks throughout the world.
The Cars-themed Flo’s Café poolside offers a look at what you may find in Carsland when it opens at Disney California Adventure.
A few times during our cruise, we passed by the Disney Dream, sister ship to the Fantasy.

From Castaway Cay, we were able to get some great photos of the ship.
A from-below look at someone riding the Aquaduck water coaster. It almost looks like they’re floating by in the sky.
